Need motivation to keep chasing that healthy number on the scale? Buy some pants that fit. I mean REALLY fit, and wear them all day. Today, I wore my new pants that fit, and after a few hours I realized why I hadn't bought any new pants in awhile. My other pants were all baggy and loose and everyday that they got baggier, the happier I got. Baggy pants means all the riding, dieting, and passing up desserts is paying off.
These new pants fit like a glove and my bum isn't used to that anymore. The tight fit is a good reminder that I am not where I want to be yet. I don't want to get too comfortable and forget my goal of getting healthy and being the person I see myself being. I feel so much better now that I've lost 55 lbs and am excited to see the next 55 lbs bite the dust.
Take care, and drink that water!
You're so right. Pants that fit will keep that focus bubbling on the front burner. Plus, they make you look better. ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the first 55. You're def moving into the fast lane.
This is a great post, Tena, and timely for me.
ReplyDelete"My other pants were all baggy and loose and everyday that they got baggier, the happier I got." ~~exactly how I'm feeling! but I'm getting kind of comfortable and lost my edge tonight. New pants for me this weekend.
I need more *reminding*.
The water ... it really DOES help! :D
Tena, you're doing so well with this. I'm excited for you and look forward to you reaching your goal next year. :D
I do the same thing. Yesterday I wore a pair that fit and I hated it. I went home and changed.
ReplyDeleteI have no butt and a big belly...grrrr!
Great post! I have not bought new pants in awhile and then my friend gave me some of her pants because she was tired of me wearing my maternity pants 20 months postpartum! It is amazing how much better I feel in the pants that fit me :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Tena,
ReplyDeletePants that really fit are an anomolly I think.
If they fit in the waist they are too big in the hips, etc. etc. I find the Gap is the only place that accomodates my "ruler" shape, however I will never pay $100 for a pair of jeans. I have about 5 pairs that "fit" me now, from the Gap, from Thrift stores and it cost about $40 for them all.
That's my pants story for the day. Heh. ;)
I hope you are happy and well in those pants.

This is 100% true in a lot of ways. There is something really motivating about seeing pants that are almost there, or pants that are a little bit tight. It's a great concept!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on all you have accomplished!
Tight ones!!! :D Really tight ones!! This is still something that I have to do.
ReplyDeleteGoals.. they are such tricky monsters for me.
This is so true . . . ALL my pants are now very tight, and there is no better reminder to get back on that wagon!
