In Control

Last week I began to eat very low carb. I thought it would be really hard since I'd been practically mainlining sugar for a couple of months, but not so. I started on Tuesday and by Thursday, I felt in control. Now, I'm not saying that I'm totally rehabbed, but I can look a muffin in the eye and walk on by.

As a result of the low carbbing, I've lost 6 lbs. Woo Hoo! And I do feel better already.

On my drive home today from work, I had this thought:  I want to set myself free and throw my hands in the air and twirl! Well, maybe not twirl literally, but who knows? All this weight feels like a ships anchor wrapped around me, holding me down. I'm sick of that feeling. I want to twirl. Anyway, it sounds weird, but I get it. I think I finally get it.

We haven't heard anymore critters in the attic so we must have only had one raccoon. The wildlife wrangler came today to check the trap and he said it looks like nothing has been up there. Later this week they will patch up the screens that were missing and that should be the end of critters in the attic.

Have a great week.

  1. Twirling sounds just wonderful. Remember that scene in You've Got Mail where the Meg Ryan character is twirling with her mother? Beautiful.

Congratulations on feeling better and your loss. Ride the wave!

  2. You are right weight feels like an anchor and when I overeat I am a bloated anchor. Ridiculous! I've eaten better this week, like actually STOPPING when I'm full, go FIGURE! And I feel amazing! I am thinking of curbing the carbs as well, they are just about running my life. Ach! Go you for stepping it up! -L.

  3. I can certainly empathize with the feeling of the anchor. Good for you on the 6#! That is great. And bravo for passing by the muffin without stopping. Sounds like you are on your way to that twirl!

L-Let's drop that anchor! Even just cutting down on carbs makes a difference for me.

  6. Congratulations on the loss! I'm doing low carb too, it's amazing how you stop desiring things like sweets once you stop indulging yourself with them.

    Keep up the great work!

  7. woo-hoo! 6 pounds!
I know that carbs send me to the dark side. It's like a chain reaction. I want more and more and I am hungrier and more tired when I eat too many carbs. Any success I have is when I cut them almost entirely out.
Good news that the critter have gone!
