And in other cycling news...

I got my new PADDED bike shorts in the mail today! Love, Love, LOVE them! My tush was feeling just fine today wearing the new shorts. I swear, I think I actually rode faster because of these new shorts. I rode faster and longer, woo hoo! Sorry if this is boring to anyone, but I had to share.

Also, I have to give credit where credit is due. That neat little widget that I now have on my blog was discovered on Joanne's blog Love To Run Love To Pedal. I was checking out the peeps on my following thingy and found out she lives in Leeds, loves to ride bikes, has a partner named Philip who has a twin brother named Paddy who lives in Texas! I Know! Isn't that cool?! Anyway, I like reading her blog and that's how I found the great little widget.

Have a good night and drink that water!

  1. One of the things I look forward to when Jeff and I lose a bunch of weight is to go bike riding as a family. I used to ride a ton growing up and Jeff used to ride 35 miles a day in his younger thinner days.

  2. I should probably get some padded shorts, by my seat is so comfortable that I never found the need to!

  3. I've hear the female "ergonomic" seats are pretty cool and comfy.

  4. I want a bike so bad. I'd really like a bike that I can ride on the road or on trails. Any suggestions? Guess I could go to bike barn.

  5. Mary Beth- You can ride not matter what size you are! I'm a big girl and riding burns way more calories than walking!

Lori- You ride everywhere, girl! My seat is comfy, but my butt is much bigger than yours now!

Kelly- The Hybrids are what you want. They usually have tires that are a little wider and rougher and are able to take some trails. Yep, Bike Barn or REI. They can help you.

  8. One more question: are padded shorts not sold in Houston? I've been thinking of getting some for spinning class.

  10. Kelly, they are sold at REI for normal sized booties! I needed a larger size so I ordered online :)

I'm looking forward to going into REI soon and buying off the rack!

  11. Cool widget. And bike shorts are a must. I picked up some not too long ago. I like the kind that have a baggy short over the spandex padded short since me and spandex = not so attractive.

  12. Yay, Tena! Welcome to the sisterhood of the padded shorts. Sure has made a difference for me.

Thanks also for the heads up on the bike recall. I have a trek and it wasn't included in the recall because it doesn't have a suspension fork. But, it's good to know those issues are out there & to keep an eye out!

Hope you have some great rides this weekend. :)

  13. I am a bundle of desires. I feel so greedy. It's the sun. Thankfully I don't have a TV, the ads would kill me right now!
I want a bike! With padded shorts too...and several million other things. ;)
The computer fairy has yet to leave a new laptop under my pillow...
    Have a great weekend.
